Eight of us met at Jericho Market in Jericho at 6:30 AM for our outing up Mts. Pisgah and Hor (with one person just showing up to say he couldn’t make it). The seven remaining people made quick introductions and made our way to Westmore, VT for our hike.
We all arrived at the trailhead shortly before 8 AM and were on our way up Pisgah shortly thereafter. The morning began the forecast cast said it would – in and out of the clouds. But the clouds did not win today. After an hour or so it was nothing but sun on a cool early fall day with great views to Lake Willoughby below. We made our way across to all the viewpoints on Pisgah before descending back to where we stopped for a quick bite before ascending up Hor on the opposite side of Lake Willoughby.
The Hor side started with a long road walk before we disappeared into the woods for a hike similar to Pisgah, but with far fewer people. We summited Hor, took in the viewpoints along the way before our descent back to the trailhead. After some conversation we all made out way back to Jericho for our cars and said our goodbyes.
Our outing was about 11.5 miles with 3500 feet of vertical.
Participants: Julie Cimonetti, Dasha Zentrichova, Andrew Magnuson, Robynn Albert, Mark McLane, Peter Hewitt, and Chris Luczynski (Trip Leader).
