Thanks to many volunteers, the Burlington section trails are in great shape!
We had 9 section work groups on 5 Saturdays in May, plus 4 other trips from April through June to get a jump on the season and to clear blowdowns reported on other trips. We had 33 different volunteers and put in over 250 person hours working to clear the trails. On these trips we cleared many waterbars, clipped many miles of trails, used chainsaws to clear over 70 blowdowns and removed countless smaller obstructions.
The trails we visited include:
- The Long Trail from the Winooski River to Rt 108
- Sunset Ridge
- Laura Cowles
- Duck Brook
- Nebraska Notch
- Lake Mansfield
- Clara Bow
- Wampahoofus
- Maple Ridge
- Rock Garden
- Butler Lodge
- Hell Brook
- Profanity
Thanks to all our volunteers, and to trail adopters who do additional trail work outside our section work trips. If you see a problem on the trails between the Winooski River and Rt 108 (the portion of the trail for which the Burlington section is responsible), please let us know!
