This hike was originally scheduled for 4/21 but due to some late season snow, Stowe ski resort was still open that weekend so it was rescheduled to 4/28 when the resort would be closed. Three intrepid souls met at the Toll Road parking lot at 8am and waited out a few morning thunderstorms. Once the radar looked better and the rain drops stopped falling, we started the hike around 8:40am. We walked about a mile up the Toll Road when we heard some thunder and saw some pop-up showers on the radar. In the sense of group safety, we turned around for an uneventful and safe trip back to our cars. There was some patchy snow along the Toll Road but no extra traction was needed. The top will be saved for another day.
