4 of us met up at the Niquette Bay State Park trail head at 10am. One of the hikers was the seasonal park ranger who lives at the park year round, accompanied by his wife. He was able to tell us lots about the park, it’s history, and guided us to wetlands and vernal pools to look for signs of amphibians. We hiked around the perimeter of the park which ended up being close to 5 miles. We had a little rain towards the end of the hike, but still had smiles all around. A few other hikers were out and about but the trail was very quiet overall. The trail was not muddy and easily hikable throughout the park.
