Giant Mountain in ADK

A fall-colors hike up one of the most spectacular hikes in the Adirondacks, on a Thursday to avoid problems finding parking at the trailhead. But this hike is well worth taking a day off from work. It’s a tough hike in which we gain 3000′ over 3 miles, so it is a sustained uphill climb the whole way. Parts of the trail near the summit are on steep rock slabs. The rewards are the spectacular views starting about halfway up, combined with stunning fall colors. At almost 5000′ elevation, this peak is one of the most popular in the ADK.
