A new shelter was built on the East Dorset-Mad Tom Road, between Styles’ Peak and Bromley Mt. [The Green Mountain News, Dec. 1922]
This camp was located near, if not at the exact location, where the Mad Tom Shelter was built in 1962 on the present day USFS Road 21. It was on the north side of the road and accommodated 20 to 24 persons. It had a supply of water just to the east. (O’Kane, 1926] A open front camp with stove and bunks for 16. [GB 9th Edition 1932]
