Mile 3.6 — Division 11 — Elev. 1650 ft
This unique log shelter with space for 10 was built in 1994 by Tod and Wendy Jenner with the Laraway Section and many other volunteers It is dedicated to Todd’s brother Jeff The logs were cut on Roundtop and skidded to the site the previous winter Water, obtained from a hand pump is found at the end of a 150 yd spur trail which leaves the LT a short distance north of the shelter. Pump water like all water along the LT system should be treated. The quality and quantity of water cannot be guaranteed. In case of pump failure, water might be found in a seep just beyond the pump It has been in use from 1994 to present. [GB 24th Edition 1996]

Between 1991 and 1993, volunteers flagged the trail relocation and cleared the site in 1993 Todd Jenner came along and wanted to give something back to the mountains He decided to build a shelter in memory of his brother Jeff in the spring Todd and nephew Ken Jenner with a dozen volunteers cut the trees and cleared the site In Feb 1994 they skidded the logs 700 to the site by hand and foot. In June the builders arrived: Todd and Wendy Jenner. Murray Jenner, and John, Barb and Emily Caviglia. The painstaking task of peeling every log was done, and the shelter began to take shape It was estimated that over 80 volunteers worked on the job from start to finish [LTN Winter 1994]
