Bourn Pond Camp appears in early editions of the Long Trail Guide as a privately owned set of camps located at the south end (inlet) of Bourn Pond. In the 4th Edition (1922), the guide describes three camps at the pond, noting that one was open to all visitors and equipped with beds, bedding, a stove, and cooking utensils. Although hikers were welcome to use it, the guide emphasized that it was not a Green Mountain Club (GMC) shelter, and users were urged to be careful with fire and leave the camp clean. Boats were available on Bourn Pond at that time.
By the 9th Edition (1932), the guide no longer recommended the camp for hikers, identifying it instead as a private camp not intended for hiker use. This shift suggests that access or management had changed, and the camp was no longer maintained or offered as an open facility for Long Trail travelers.
