Carmel Camp 2nd

Carmel Camp 2nd was an oblong, closed building with walls and roof of metal, featuring a front piazza and interior bunks to sleep six people along with a stove, table, bench, and utensils.

Built in 1921 on the ruins of the former camp, it stood in a grassy opening partly grown up to raspberry bushes, approximately a mile and a half from New Boston with an elevation gain of about 650 feet.

By spring 1947, the camp had collapsed into an unusable condition, though the Green Mountain Club indicated plans to rebuild it once materials and labor became available.
The shelter never recovered; it did not survive beyond 1947.
