Cooley Glen Shelter 3rd

The third shelter to bear the moniker "Cooley Glen" is a framed lean-to with room for eight, built by the USFS in 1965.

Located at the junction of the Cooley Glen Trail and the Long Trail, the shelter serves backpackers on one of Vermont’s major hiking routes in the Breadloaf Wilderness. In 2021, the shelter underwent major renovation work, with a three-person crew spending three weeks leveling and squaring the building.
