Hooker’s was a private residence located at Goshen Four Corners, two miles west of the Long Trail’s Brandon-Rochester Pass crossing (Brandon Gap).
The property first appears in the 1917 Long Trail Guide Book as a farm house where food and lodging could be obtained.
J. S. Hooker operated the establishment, offering meals and lodging to Long Trail hikers during the 1920s and 1930s.
By 1940, the guide specified that Hooker’s could accommodate six persons in summer and fewer in winter.
The business maintained telephone service and could hold mail or parcels for hikers if arranged in advance.
Hooker’s continued to be listed as a source of food supply, mail, and lodging in the Green Mountain Club’s guide books through at least 1940, appearing in the list of Division VI and Division VII resources. The property eventually ceased operations, and today no longer stands.
