Kennedy Home was located at North Duxbury and offered meals and lodging to Long Trail hikers.
The establishment appears in Green Mountain Club guidebooks from at least 1930 onwards, operated by Mrs. Howard Kennedy, with a telephone number (67-22) listed under the name Davis.
By 1928, Kennedy Home was identified as the third house east of North Duxbury station, positioning it as a convenient stop for hikers approaching Camel’s Hump from the Waterbury area. The home served a practical function within the emerging Long Trail network during the early twentieth century, providing accommodation and meals during a period when such private residences supplemented the club’s shelter system. The shelter eventually ceased operation, and the building no longer stands.
