Wicked Waystation is a hiker hostel located seven miles from the Long Trail and Appalachian Trail crossing at Kelley Stand Road in southern Vermont, operated by Thais Gherardi. Thais moved north with her family in 2018, purchasing an old farmhouse with the goal of creating a socially and economically meaningful project that became the hostel. The facility offers warm beds, hot showers, laundry facilities, and grassy campsites to hikers and serves as a gathering point for the local trail community. Thais is known for providing extensive trail magic and rescue support, famously reaching hikers in distress during catastrophic flooding in Vermont, arranging emergency transportation and providing shelter and supplies to ensure their safety and wellbeing. The hostel serves as a community hub where hikers on "zero" days (rest days) are introduced to the local area and its residents
