Mile 0.2 on North Shore Tr. — Division 3 — Elev. 2555 ft

Also known as the North Shore Tenting Area, and the Stratton Pond Tenting Area, this campsite is located .5 mile from the LT on Stratton Pond and is near the site of the old Stratton View Shelter which was dismantled in 1997. It has tent platforms. The Worcester Section has developed a primitive camping area on land owned by Gardiner Lane at Stratton Pond. Gardiner offered this for a pilot project as a possible solution for the rapidly increasing use of the LT. [LTN August 1972]
